Large Swing Set Stand
This stand is large, so can fit all of our swings width-wise and most of our swings height-wise. The only ones that it can't fit are the tallest fixed-length swings like the 'Heavy Duty Commercial 100cm Blue Rope Nest Swing'. Since it's a large stand, we'd suggest checking that your space is suitable in advance.
The Stand: It's powder coated and galvanised for weather resistant and the 260cm by 206cm footprint means that it can fit our largest swings like the 150cm nest swing, or 2 smaller swings at once.
Suitable Swings: 100-150cm nest swings (with adjustable ropes), wrap swings etc. So most of the swings, as long as they're not too tall.
Weight Limit: The stand has a weight capacity of 150kg (suggested), 250kg (tested capacity). If the swing you're attaching has a lower limit, then you should follow that limit.
Set includes: 1x swing set stand, 2x mini-straps with carabiners and 1x mini-strap with swivel.
Optional Accessories:
- Spiral Pegs - in case you'll be swinging high enough that the large base starts to move or lift, then spiral pegs can fix the stand to the ground to allow higher swinging. The spiral pegs are better than normal pegs, since they are XL size at 33cm long (going deep into the ground), they have a spiral on the end to keep them securely in the ground, and they have straps at the top to connect to the stand easily and allow adjustment.

The stand to buy when the swing is sorted but the hanging point is not: no suitable tree, a rented house, or a ceiling with no joist where you want it. It takes every swing we sell width wise and all but the tallest fixed length swings height wise, so the 100cm to 150cm nest swings with adjustable ropes, the wrap swings and the pod swings all hang from it, and two smaller swings can hang side by side. It suits a play room, verandah or yard with about 2.6m by 2.1m to spare, and it is galvanised and powder coated for outdoors.
The stand bolts together in the order shown in the manual, and the mini straps attach to the crossbar: two straps around 1 metre apart to swing forward and back, or the single strap at the centre to swing in more directions or to spin. The straps can be moved along the crossbar but do not adjust vertically, so the height is set via the swing itself. Rated to 150kg suggested and 250kg tested, and a lower rated swing sets the limit. On grass, the optional spiral pegs at the corners let children swing higher without the base sliding. Safety and care for swing stands
- Set the stand on a flat surface, clear of toys and anything a child could bump into or trip on. Grass or matting is safer than a hard floor.
- Double check that every bolt and connection is tight, then adjust the chain or straps so the swing hangs at a height that is easy to get on and off.
- The X-Stand, U-Stand and tripod are for sitting or gentle swinging. Strong swinging belongs on a swing set stand with a wider base. If the swing is rated lower than the stand, the swing's limit applies.
- Keep an eye out for sliding, leg lifting or tipping. Noting such would mean needing to take extra care not to swing overly strongly, and you may consider fixing the stand down, eg. our Spiral Pegs into dirt or grass, or adding weights to the base, such as Velcro sandbags from eBay.
- When spinning from a single point, put a swivel above the carabiners so the rotation is smoother and puts less force on the stand.
- On soft ground, peg or sandbag the legs; indoors, use floor protectors under the feet.
- The stands are powder coated for weather, but give them some cover over long periods outside, and bring the swing in when it is not being used.

Which swings fit the large swing set stand?
Most of our swings: the 100cm to 150cm nest swings with adjustable ropes, the wrap swings and the pod swings, and the crossbar can carry two smaller swings at once. The ones that do not fit are the tallest fixed length swings, such as the heavy duty 100cm nest swing. Check the swing's hanging length against the 185cm stand height before ordering.
Can the swing set stand stay outside?
Yes, it is galvanised and powder coated, so it is made for the yard as well as a play room or verandah. We still suggest keeping it out of permanent sun and rain if you want the longest life from it. Grass or matting under the stand is safer than a hard floor, and on soft ground the spiral pegs or sandbags on the legs keep it put.
Do I need the spiral pegs?
If the swinging strength causes the base to slide, then it can help to fix it down. The 33cm spiral pegs screw into the ground at the corners and strap to the stand, so the stand can take higher swinging. On decking or concrete, sandbags on the base do the same job.
