A hammock chair hangs from one point and holds you sitting upright, so it needs a fraction of the room a hammock does and suits a verandah, a shady tree or a corner of a bedroom. Every chair on this page is rated to 120kg, and the hanging egg chairs are rated to 150kg.
The three filters split the range by what arrives in the box. A chair on its own needs a beam, a joist or a solid branch. A set brings its own 2.1m powder coated steel stand and a carabiner, so nothing is fixed to the house. A hanging egg chair is a pod with its own stand, chain, hook and cushions.
Which one suits your space

- Nothing to hang it from: a set sits on any flat surface and moves around the yard, and the stand is 2.1m tall on a 110cm by 110cm base.
- Room for something bigger: an egg chair stands about 2m tall on a base of roughly 116cm by 105cm, so it clears a standard ceiling indoors and suits a deck.
Materials
The padded chairs are 65/35 poly cotton canvas with inner padding and wooden arm rests, the canvas chairs with tassels are poly cotton, the round macrame chairs are cotton and polyester, and the rope chair is 100% cotton yarn. The egg chair pods are resin wicker or hand woven PE rattan on a powder coated steel frame, which is why they can live outside under cover.

How much weight does a hammock chair hold?
Every hammock chair we sell is rated to 120kg, one person at a time, and the hanging egg chairs are rated to 150kg. The two seater egg chair is rated to 200kg for two people. The lowest rating in the set up applies, so if you hang a 120kg chair from a hook or a beam that carries less, the hook or the beam is the limit.
Do I need a stand?
Only if you have nowhere solid to hang from. A single beam, joist or thick branch is enough for a chair on its own, using tree straps as a completely removable solution, or by a hanging kit that screws an eye into solid timber. If your ceilings does not have a suitable joist to install into, or you want to move the chair around the yard, buy a set with a stand instead. Every set here includes the stand and a carabiner.
Can a hammock chair stay outside?
The fabric chairs are cotton or poly cotton, so they last much longer if you bring them in when they are not in use. The egg chairs are made for outdoors, with resin wicker or PE rattan pods on powder coated steel, though their cushions should come inside and a cover helps when not in use.
