Hammock Chair Sets
A set is the answer when there is nothing to hang a chair from. You get the chair, a 2.1m powder coated steel stand on a cross base and the carabiner that joins them, so the chair is up and holding weight in a few minutes with nothing screwed into the house.
The chairs themselves are the same ones we sell on their own: 1.4m to 1.45m from the top loop to the bottom of the seat, a 1.0m wooden spreader bar, and a 120kg rating. Two are padded poly cotton with wooden arm rests, two are canvas with a pillow.

Setting it up
Stand it on a flat, firm surface with the base flat on the ground. On soft lawn, a paver under each foot may keep it level. The stand is made for sitting and gentle swaying. When getting in, keep your weight in the middle rather than pushing hard against the frame.

Do I have to drill anything?
No. The stand carries the chair, so nothing is fixed to a wall, a ceiling or a tree. That makes a set the usual choice for renters, for patios and for anyone whose ceilings are plasterboard without a suitable joist. It also means the chair can be moved to the shade in summer or brought under cover when the weather turns.
How much room does the stand need?
The stand is 2.1m tall on a cross base, so it clears a standard 2.4m ceiling indoors and fits on a verandah or deck. Allow a clear circle around it, because the chair turns as you sit down and swings gently once you are in it. On grass, you may choose to set it on pavers so the feet stay level.
Can I use the chair without the stand later?
Yes. The chair unclips from the carabiner and can hang from a beam, a joist or a branch with a hanging kit, and the stand can then hold a different chair. Each part is rated to 120kg on its own, so the chair does not depend on the stand and the stand does not depend on the chair.
