Hammock Chairs Only
These are the chairs on their own, for anyone who already has somewhere solid to hang one: a beam, a joist, a pergola rafter or a thick branch. They are the cheapest way into a hammock chair, from $89.95, and they come down in a minute when you want the space back.
All of them are rated to 120kg and measure 1.24m to 1.45m from the top loop to the bottom of the seat, so allow for that plus the chain when you check your ceiling height.

- Padded chairs with wooden arm rests, 65/35 poly cotton canvas with inner padding, 1.4m long.
- Canvas chairs with tassels and a 1.0m bar, in black or beige, and a bright multi colour chair that comes with two pillows.
- Round macrame chairs, 1.24m long with a 0.6m seat, in beige or dark grey.
- Cotton rope chair with tassels, 100% cotton yarn, 1.32m long.
What you need to hang one
One fixing point that can take an adult plus movement. Our hanging kits include a screw eye, to screw into solid timber, plus the chain and S hooks to set the height, and a cone spring adds a little bounce. Plasterboard, cornices and hollow beams will not hold a chair with someone in it. If there is nothing solid, look at the sets with a stand instead.

What do I need to hang a hammock chair?

The hanging kits include a screw eye, to screw into solid timber, such as a beam, a joist or a pergola rafter, and gives you the chain and S hooks to set the height. Never fix into plasterboard or a hollow beam. A thick, living branch works outdoors, and you can protect the bark with a strap or a sling.
How much ceiling height do I need?
The chairs are 1.24m to 1.45m from the top loop to the bottom of the seat, plus whatever chain you use, so a standard 2.4m ceiling leaves the seat around normal chair height. The chain in our hanging kits adjusts a link at a time, which is how you fine tune the hanging height for different users.
Can these chairs live outdoors?
They can hang outside while they are in use, but they are cotton or poly cotton with a wooden bar, so they last much longer if you bring them in afterwards. Rain soaked cotton left hanging will mildew and the sun weakens the fibers over time. If you want something that stays out all season, look at the hanging egg chairs.
