This sensory swing is made from special Oxford Polyester canvas, meaning it's waterproof and easy to clean - perfect for both indoor and outdoor use.

Kids with autism often find this type of swing comforting, with its wrapping, gentle swinging and spinning all in one. It can be thought of as similar to a hug.

The swing is also popular with child occupational therapists, and for parents of autistic kids to use at home (eg. in the bedroom, lounge room, sensory room, play room or back yard). If you have funding organised through your OT or a funding provider, send us an email and we can provide you with an invoice for them.

The blue is the most popular colour, making it a good choice if you're buying is as a gift. The swing measures 140x70cm and supports up to 80kg.

We have accessories such as a tree strap to hang from a tree or horizontal hanging point, or an anchor plate kit for use in cement or brick (or wood if you buy wood screws separately).

Safety and care for pod swings

  • After fitting the cushion, make sure the zip sits on the inside of the pod. If it is on the outside, turn the pod inside out. This keeps the load off the stitching.
  • Hang the seat no more than 35cm above grass, sand, wood chips or a mat.
  • The pod is for sitting and gentle rocking, not strong swinging. Sit in the centre with full weight when using it alone, in bare feet or soft shoes.
  • The canvas is waterproof, but do not let water pool inside if it gets wet, and bring it in and store it dry at the end of the season.
  • Check the fabric and stitching at the start of each season, and the hanging point and carabiners before each use.
  • An adult should supervise, and check that the child can get in and out safely. This is the part that requires more balance and manoeuvring.
