150cm Black Mat Nest Swing
The swing is very roomy, so could fit multiple kids easily. The Polypropylene micro-weave material (like trampoline matting) is waterproof, smooth and supportive. A lot of people prefer the smooth mat style versus the rope style.
The suggested age is 3+ and the suggested weight limit is 140kg.
The outer ring is padded for safety and comfort, while the swing uses 8 outer ropes rather than the usual 4 for stability and strength. The tabs connecting the mat to the padded ring keep the mat taut, though the mat will stretch a bit after some use.
Hanging:
It is commonly hung from a suitably large stand or with tree straps, anchor plates, or ropes. Then you just need a sufficiently strong hanging point with enough space to swing. The height of the hanging point can vary, as the swing can adjust from 1.2-1.6m tall and the tree straps or other hanging accessories can be adjusted too.
You can hang it from 1 or 2 points, depending on if you want it to spin more or swing mainly forwards and backwards.
The hanging height should be low enough that you or the children can get on and off safely. Also consider the safety of the surrounding area such as the floor (grass is softer and safer than cement) or objects below the swing (remove potentially dangerous objects eg. toys).
Once it's set up, it's ready for not only the kids, but adults too. That is the great benefit of this swing. Just check the strength of the setup and you're ready to swing.

The 150cm mat nest swing is the one to buy when adults will use it as well as children, or when two or three small children will use it together. The 100cm nest swings are mainly for kids. At 150cm across and rated to 140kg, this one takes an adult lying down, and with a quilt and pillows on top it works as an outdoor daybed. The smooth polypropylene mat suits children who do not like the feel of rope netting, and it is waterproof, so it copes with a verandah or the yard.
It hangs from one point to spin or from two points to swing forward and back. The ropes adjust from 1.2m to 1.6m, and tree straps or chain add length above that, so a verandah beam, a branch at least 25cm thick, or our large swing set stand all work. Assembly is the part to read the manual for: the padded ring is designed to be a tight fit, which is easiest when assembled using a trick outlined in the manual, and the final join needs a firm push with fingers kept clear of the joints. Two adults make it easier.
Safety and care for nest swings
- Hang the swing no more than 40cm above grass, sand, wood chips or a mat, with clearance on each side. It may be hung from a swing set, beam or a tree limb at least 25cm thick.
- Sit in the centre when swinging alone. Avoid standing, and do not jump on the mat, which concentrates the load on one spot.
- Do not twist the ropes, which weakens them. Avoid having them rub against objects, and check regularly for significant and worsening fraying.
- Assembly takes one or two adults. The 150cm swing is designed to be tight, so the final join needs a firm push; keep fingers clear of the joints when doing so.
- Recommended for ages 3 and up, with adult supervision.

Will the 150cm nest swing fit on a stand?
Yes, on our large swing set stand, which has a 260cm by 206cm footprint and stands 185cm tall, and is sold with this swing as a set or on its own. The swing's own ropes adjustment sets the height, since the straps on the stand do not adjust vertically. Allow the stand's footprint plus room to swing on each side.
Can adults use the 150cm nest swing?
Yes, the suggested limit is 140kg and 150cm across is wide enough for an adult to lie down in, which is a good reason to choose it over the 100cm size. The suggested age is 3 and up with an adult supervising, and it is for sitting, lying and gentle swinging, not for standing on or jumping on, which adds excess pressure to one part of the mat and its stitching.
Is the 150cm nest swing hard to put together?
If you follow the trick in the manual for the last join, then it's not too difficult, because the ring is made to be tight so the mat stays taut. The manual on this page shows the order to fit the sections, and following it makes the last step much easier. Two adults makes it easier to assemble, and fingers should stay clear of the joints while doing so. Once assembled it stays assembled; only the ropes need adjusting.
