Item Description
Note: Stand used for photography only. Stand not included.

Prefer to have a hammock without a spreader bar? A regular hammock keeps you safely inside without having to focus on balancing, such as with a spreader bar hammock. The white-beige colour with tassels is a very popular choice of regular hammock.

The lying area is 200cm long by 140cm wide, so it's fairly long and wide, fine even for people over 6 feet tall. The total length is longer when including the ropes on each end.

The 150kg weight capacity allows it to hold multiple adults and/or kids at the same time.

The stand pictured is not included. The common hanging options are the hanging kits including screw eyes that can be installed in wood, or tree straps or ropes that can be wrapped around 2 points.

Hanging, safety and care for hammocks

  • Hang from two solid points: posts, beams, trees or our plate hooks screwed into timber. Each hook carries the full load when you get in, so fix into solid wood or masonry, not plasterboard or a fence paling.
  • Each listing gives the hammock's total length. Hanging points at about that far apart, hang it low and flat; closer together hangs it higher and more curved. Our daisy chain straps or a length of chain can make up the difference if your hanging points are further apart, so you do not need the exact distance. As a guide, the 3.9m Mexican hammocks usually hang from points about 3.4m apart.
  • Get in from the middle, not the end: sit first, then swing your legs up. A hammock without a spreader bar wraps around you and is the harder one to fall out of, thus easier to balance. Spreader bar hammocks lie flatter and require more balance to avoid tipping, so get on to these more carefully.
  • Capacities are on each listing eg. 100kg for the parachute hammock, 150kg for the rope and spreader bar hammocks, 200kg for the cotton Brazilian and Mexican hammocks. The lowest rating in the set-up applies, whether that is the hammock, the hook or the strap.
  • Children should have an adult supervising carefully, with the hammock hung low enough that they can climb out on their own. Take it down or tie it up when it is not being used.
  • Cotton hammocks last longest when kept dry and under cover. Bring them in before rain: a wet cotton hammock left up will mildew, and sun weakens the fibers over time. The outdoor cotton Mexican hammocks suit undercover outdoor spots. For washing, gently massage the material in warm water, then rinse and hang to air dry.
  • Check the ropes, end loops and hooks regularly for fraying, rust or loose knots, especially where the end strings attach to the O-rings.
